Welcome to our 1st Newsletter for the year!
Thank-you to all who attended our general meeting in January 2019. Minutes from this meeting have been emailed to all members.
Use this link to view the revised Rules, Policies and Procedures which were reviewed at our last meeting. These will also be displayed in the clubhouse. We encourage you to read these and be familiar with expectations.
We have lots of exciting events planned for this year. Our new Website is up and running and will be added to throughout the year. It lists our committee members, events, rules and policies, membership, sponsors and photos. Please visit our site to keep up to date. You may also visit our FaceBook Page which will have most recent information displayed.
Our Members Day is to be held on Sunday the 10th February starting at 7am to beat the heat! Members should have nominated via email before the 1st Feb to allow for numbers. It should be a great morning with Toni Jack assisting in the arena to give tips on Dressage, (please see New EA Dressage Tests), and a fun Obstacle Course in the large paddock to challenge you and your horses mind! This will be followed by a social morning tea!
Our 1st Working Bee is to be held on Saturday 2nd March and Sunday 3rd March giving members the option as to which day they would prefer to help out. This is in preparation for our 1st Dressage Competition which will be held on Sunday the 10th March. You should have all recieved a list for members to nominate which jobs they are able to assist with, along with nominating day of preference, as it is required that all members assist throughout the year. Please email your name, day of preference, and job to email@example.com. If the job you request to do is full, we will email you and ask that you choose another task, so 1st in best dressed! For those not able to contribute there is an option to pay a fee of $130.00 for the year. This cost will go towards maintaining the club facilities and grounds.
And on a High Note – Currumbin District Horse Club has successfully been granted money from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund to assist with fixing our fences! This is great news and will ensure our grounds are maintained for our members. We will have to put in an application to the council to do the proposed works and then we should be able to commence work. ?
We also received a grant from our local Councilor Gail O’Neil. The funds have gone towards updating our software and technology, and purchasing new jump poles, wings, cups, flags etc. We thank her for her ongoing support.
We are also in the process of replacing the toilet block roof beams. We have had to put in an application to council again to do works. We are now seeking quotes and a certifier. The repairs should only take a few days and an email will notify members of the toilet block closure, along with a Face book message!
Membership for 2019 is due on the 1st of March and will need to be paid via nominate.com.au A renewal should be sent to members from nominate close to this date. Please DO NOT Renew until the 1st of March. Memberships are valid until this date and will need to be renewed to continue to be able to use the clubs facilities on or after 1st March. No payments will be taken at the club. If you do not receive your renewal notice (as you may have done this on sign on day) please follow the below process –

Select “Clubs” – scroll down to find “Currumbin District Horse Club”. Click the JOIN button and complete the Member Registration and payment.
